ANNUAL ABSTRACT OF STATISTICS, 2010

This chapter presents data on employment in selected sectors of the economy and on unemployment. Unemployment estimation adopted by Nigeria is based on 39 hours of work in a week, rather than the International Labour Organiisation (ILO) definition of one-hour work in a week.       

Other data cover employment creation programmes undertaken by the National Directorate of Employment, employment in the civil service, registered unemployment and vacancies declared, trade disputes, among others.
